BIOGRAPHY: Joannes Slootmans was a member of the First National Assembly as a representative of district Steenbergen from 2-Aug-1747 until 31-Aug-1797. He was inn-keeper from 16-Apr-1796 until 12-Apr-1798 in Steenbergen. He was registered as shop-keeper in 1828. On 13-Apr-1795 he is appointed secretary of the Dutch Society "De Ware Vrijheid" (The True Freedom), established on 2-Mar-1795 and recognized by the municipality on 14-Apr-1795.
